Students seeking financial assistance for funding their LL.M. programmes are invited to visit www.grantfinder.nl. The Netherlands Student Grantfinder is an online search engine for those who want to study in the Netherlands and are looking for financial aid. The Grantfinder contains information on a range of Dutch scholarships for foreign students.

Students applying for one of these scholarships should submit their applications to Erasmus School of Law no later than 1 December preceding the year of enrolment.. You will need a(n) (provisional) admission letter from Erasmus School of Law to apply for one of the above-mentioned scholarships.


Erasmus School of Law partial tuition waivers

 

  • 2 Marc Loth (partial) tuition waivers

In honor of our former Dean, Marc Loth (now member of the Supreme Court of the Netherlands), Erasmus School of Law will grant tuition waivers for 2010-2011 to two students.

Eligible candidates are those that:

  1. have been accepted onto our Commercial Law, International and European Public Law or Business, Corporate and Maritime Law Programme
  2. have an outstanding academic record (preferably belonging to the top 10% in your study programme)
  3. submit a motivational essay (max. 1000 words about why you should be considered for this Marc Loth tuition waiver, why you chose the programme you have been accepted to, your goals after graduation etc.. This essay should be different from your motivational essay when applying for admission to our programmes.
  4. are able to show that you cannot afford the tuition fee (by means of a financial statement explaining your financial situation).

You should, however, submit proof of financial support (original documents!) meaning an official statement or transcript from your bank which is recent (not older than 3 months) which states your financial credit (in Euro) accessible to you for living costs in the Netherlands (EUR 9900/year) for the period of your study.

      5. not receive a full coverage scholarship for the same period of study as the Marc Loth tuition waiver

Depending on the number of applications, successful candidates will be short listed.

Students will receive news about the outcome of the scholarship selection before 1 June 2010. Please note that the waiver for Commercial Law and International and European Public Law is a partial one. Tuition waiver recipients will receive a waiver of EUR 7330 and will have to pay a tuition fee of EUR 1620 (legal tuition fee) instead of EUR 8950. Tuition waiver recipients for Business, Corporate and Maritime Law will receive a full waiver.

Please note:  for Commercial Law and International and European Public Law only non EU/EEA students can apply. For Business, Corporate and Maritime Law all international students can apply for this waiver.

 

  • (Partial) tuition waiver: Erasmus School of Law offers a (partial) tuition waiver in exceptional cases. Only applicants with highly qualified legal skills will be taken into consideration. Students will have to prove their excellent academic legal skills by means of their academic documents. Requests for waivers can be sent to the LL.M. Office. Your financial statement should consist of a motivation letter, including a description of your financial position and an indication of the maximum total amount that you and/or a private sponsor are able to contribute, along with a bank statement in either Euro or USD. Only complete waiver applications will be reviewed.

NB for Commercial Law and International and European Public Law: only non EU-EEA students can apply for a partial tuition waiver as the university is bound by national law to charge the legal tuition fee of EUR 1620 to all students.
